Description

Dibon is situated 20 km. east of the Dead Sea and 64 km. south of 'Amman on the highway leading to Kerak and 'Aqabah. The Dibon site consists of two mounds. One is occupied by the modern village of Dhiban whose Arabic name preserves in only slightly altered form the ancient Moabite and Hebrew name Dibon.
